Spectacle of femininity

The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw

This film is Jayne Mansfield at her most beautiful. Even though she is on stage here she’s at her most ‘naturally’ glamorous and feminine for the whole performance.
There are some great lines in this film that demonstrate Thomas Doherty’s ‘figurative liternalness’, to get around the PCA.
Example: Jayne teaching a man how to ‘handle’ a gun, man says ‘If only you could come along and hold my wrist every time I try to shoot!’
